Set in the village of Deiniolen, just 3 miles from the foot of Snowdon, and close to the Menai Straits, the Old School Lodge is the perfect place from which to explore the rugged splendour and coastal delights of North Wales. The Lodge, owned and managed by  Scouts, offers excellent modern facilities for a wide range of users. including those with disabilities. 

 

 Open all year, it can accommodate up to 38 people in comfortable en-suite rooms. 
 
 

The Old School Lodge, originally the 19th Century Village School, was extensively refurbished prior to its opening in 2001. Set in large wooded grounds with a gently flowing stream and a breathtaking view of the mountains beyond, the Lodge is situated four miles from Llanberris and the foot of Snowdon itself. Bangor and Anglesey are also nearby. 

 

It is a requirement that all those who use The Old School Lodge - Deiniolen - act in a reasonable and proper way with regard to their personal behaviour, the care of the facilities, the conduct of activities.

Smoking Policy
The Old School Lodge is designated a non smoking building and is equipped with smoke detectors.

 

Facilities for the Disabled
Visitors should note that rooms adapted for the disabled are situated on the first floor and are accessible via stair lift. 

 

Where else can you get en-suite bathrooms  After a hard day's scrambling on the mountains there is loads of hot water in the showers."

FACILITIES AT LODGE

 

The Lodge is centrally heated and includes a fully fitted and equipped Kitchen, Dining Room, Spacious Lounge (which can comfortably accommodate all residents and has various games and entertainment facilities), and Drying Room. The sleeping accommodation - for up to 38 persons - is made up of 8 bunk rooms (one sleeping 6, all others sleeping 4) and 2 twin-bedded leader rooms, and all rooms have en-suite Bathrooms.
Other rooms include a Map Room and a small Lounge for the exclusive use of Leaders.

The Lodge is fully equipped for those with disabilities including ramped access, a stair lift and specially adapted showers in several of its rooms
